Wall Street Journal: Little Mole’s Real Space Ride on Endeavour print
March 23, 2011

Wall Street Journal announced in yesterday’s issue that a stuffed version of Czech iconic cartoon character, the Little Mole will accompany one of the staff members having Czech relatives on the last journey of Endeavour Space Shuttle in April 2011. Little Mole, created by animator Zdenek Miler more than 50 years ago has already made a space journey in a cartoon episode in 1965; in that episode, the Little Mole’s spaceship went around the Earth, then fell on a small island where animals helped the Mole get back home. Wall Street Journal interviewed Mr. Zdenek Miler who recently turned 90 whether the space ride will result in new episodes of the Mole’s story on pause since 2004, but the animator left the question open referring to his age.
